AVOID THE "VALENTINE'S DAY BLUES"

Today is Valentine's Day.

And if you are like many single people or even couples who are in
an unhappy relationship, you may actually dread this holiday.

Sound familiar?  You're not alone.  In fact, I'd say that all told
way fewer people than you think actually look forward to
February 14th.

Today's commercial world puts so much pressure on a man to buy
expensive gifts to show his "love" for a woman.

We know that's not what it should really be about, but it seems as
if that's what it has come to.

In addition, many women are hoping that maybe this time their gift
will be an engagement ring.  It's a sweet thought, but what if it
doesn't happen?

Indeed, most of us have had a Valentine's Day where we did NOT get
what we had hoped for.  A date?  A kiss?  Flowers?

(OK...for almost all of us it's been WAY more than just one.)

Commercials and TV shows play up this romantic day as important--
that it's a MUST to have a date AND gifts in order to feel special.

I was listening to the radio and the DJ recommended that us women
should each send a bouquet of flowers to a girl friend of ours who
we thought would not receive anything this holiday.

For good measure, we should be sure to mark it "anonymous" in
order to make her feel special.

I personally believe all my girl friends are special year round
whether they are in a relationship or not.  The last thing my
friends need is to be led on a wild goose chase for someone who
doesn't exist!

I remember when I worked in an office that when the florist showed
up we all wanted to know who the flowers were for.  Many of us
hoped it was for ourselves, of course.

You are also not alone if you have actually thought about sending
yourself flowers or a gift to work.

For some women who are not in a relationship during Valentine's
Day, the feeling of not receiving anything or not receiving
affection on that day really can be depressing--if we let it be.

Men also experience the same disappointment of not having someone
to celebrate with, by the way.

Simply put, with all the pressures and disappointments it's easy to
get the "Valentine's Day Blues".

What can we do to avoid those blues?

To put things in perspective, Valentine's Day is only one day out
of the whole year.
Participants in a healthy relationship do not
rely on a calendar day to express their undying love for one
another, right?

Everyone in a relationship should try making every day like
Valentine's Day, letting each other know with both words and actions
that they care.

By doing this, it will lessen any disappointment if the day did not
go as planned, knowing that we can try again on another day...which
we really can, of course.

Nevertheless, February 14th is the day that both men and women tend
to evaluate their relationships.

It's like a yearly reminder to put us back on track to rekindle a
good partnership, or to go out and find our true love with whom we
can live happily ever after.

But unfortunately in the real world, it just doesn't always turn out
that way.

In fact, one source estimates that 6 million people will be breaking
up TODAY...on Valentine's Day!

After February 14th the online dating sites have a jump in memberships
due to so many break ups over the holidays and because so many people
--men AND women--are tired of going through all of the holidays over
the last few months without someone by their side.

So that means that this coming week there will be men online looking
for a loving partner to share their life with.

For many men, this will be their first time online.  The statistics
show that about 90% of the men only remain on online dating sites for
less than three months!

Timing is important...and NOW is the time to be online.

Can you be the kind of woman who represents a GREAT online dating
experience
for a GREAT man?

And are you ready to finally meet a guy who is as fed-up with
flakiness and game playing as you are?

Really, NOW could be a perfect time for you to find your life partner.
