WHAT IS YOUR HEART TELLING YOU?
So many of you write such terrific messages to me, and I have to
say that the vast majority of those of you who do are total
sweethearts.
You should have a great man in your life, because you deserve it.
Yet, unfortunately an almost overwhelming number of you send me
questions that are strikingly similar.
Typically they follow a rather specific pattern. You've been seeing
a guy, but he has either:
1) Disappeared
2) Calls way less than he used to
3) Told you he "isn't ready for a relationship", or
4) Completely avoids talking about a "relationship" altogether
Now if you happen to be a member of the Keys To Bliss inner circle,
you already know that I'm happy to answer your questions in detail.
And I'll continue to do so.
But I have this sneaking suspicion that when many of you write me
you already know the answer to your questions.
In fact, let's just tell it like it is: I KNOW you already know
the answer to your questions.
Sometimes you'll even SAY so.
"Emily, I know I shouldn't stay with a guy like this, but what do
you think?"
or...
"Emily, I know I should have a guy in my life who isn't so
indifferent toward me, but what do you think?"
Sure, I'm a professional dating consultant.
Yes, Scot and I are immersed in all sorts of dating and relationship
advice stuff all day long.
But you already know who's the REAL "world class expert" when it
comes to YOUR real-world relationships--at least in terms of knowing
the situation at hand as well as possible and feeling the very real
emotions that accompany it all.
YOU are that expert.
And me? When I answer e-mails like the ones I'm referring to here, I
know my purpose is a very simple one.
It's to reassure you that your thinking is spot on. It's to
encourage you that you would be doing the right thing by moving on.
Ladies, if a man has lost interest and/or is playing "disappearing
act" games with you, here's one word that always applies to the
situation: "NEXT!"
You already know that's the way it is, and that's the way it SHOULD
be.
Your heart is already telling you so.
All that's left to do is follow your heart, because it rarely, if
ever, lies to you.
Now hey, if you DO find that a guy has lost interest and that you
need to move on, I realize it can be excruciatingly difficult to just "let
go".
Sometimes there's a significant shared history there that you don't
want to end.
Other times it just seems too intimidating to have to start over
with another guy.
Or you may even doubt yourself. You may let thoughts creep in that
you may not ever find another guy at all, let alone one who will
truly adore you.
