WHAT'S INSIDE: There's a lot of talk about how
important it is to have a sense of "style". But this
has to go WAY, WAY beyond the clothes you wear
and the haircut you get.

STYLE GETS PERSONAL
I've seen lots of "style guides" for men lately. What
bugs me is how they all focus on how you look.
In the fast world of haute couture the word "style"
is almost synonymous with "fashion". And "fashion"
typically refers to clothing, hairstyles, etc.
But women want more from a high quality man than
that. The most underestimated x-factor when it
comes to attraction is the overall vibe you represent
to women.
Even though we all send a message to others about
what we're really like at our core, most of us as guys
have no idea what thet message we're sending is.
The BIGGER message there is that we don't know
who we are, and that's unattractive to women.
Worse? Relatively few of us even care.
And when that's the case, why should women--who
are hardwired to follow our lead--care either?
But there's more.
Women LOVE a man with a confident plan for where
he's going in life, so logically we have to know who
we ARE and what we're ABOUT first, right?
Do I have your attention yet?
This whole "style" thing is important.
It's obviously time for a radical new approach to
finding some.
Yeah, getting newer and cooler clothes helps.
But man, wait until you see the power packed
behind letting your sense of "style" permeate your
being inside and out.
The deeper you dig into your soul to discover
what your style is, the more effective and
intriguing your public persona will be.
Let's compare a complete, well-rounded vision of
one's personal style with a marketing campaign.
Marketing is the art and science of branding a
product and spinning its image both as effectively
AND as accurately as possible.
Think of your "style" as a "self-marketing strategy".
You already have an image of some sort...and like
I said, that's whether you realize it or not.
But the bigger question is did YOU come up with
it, or did you just go along with some "ready made"
template society offered?
If the latter, then your personal brand isn't
targeting the market you'd like it to. That goes
for your social circle, career path and YES...the
women you'd like to attract.
To assist you in sorting out this all-important
matter, here are some straightforward but thought
provoking questions.
Once you have the answers to them in place,
you'll have a clearer sense of your own personal
style.
You'll have a handle on the overall vibe you
really WANT to emanate.
There aren't really any ground rules.
It's only important that your answers are 100%
honest and uniquely yours.
What Is Your Theme Song?
When you enter the room, what song should
be playing?
A number of famous celebrities such as Bob
Hope or Johnny Carson literally had theme
songs that would play whenever they walked
onstage, just like "Hail To The Chief" plays
whenever the President Of The United States
arrives.
Without question, it would be "The Ecstasy
Of Gold" for me.
What's yours?
What Movie Would You Star In, And
Which Character Would You Play?
For most of us, I think the "fall out of bed"
answer would be based on whatever movie we
thought was cool, and the guy we thought was
coolest dude in it. For me that's either Paul
Newman in Cool Hand Luke or Steve McQueen
in Bullitt.
But you'll come up with a far more effective
answer if you recall a mood a certain movie
put you in that you really liked.
Like I mentioned a few days ago when talking
about Un-Settled, was there ever a time when
you walked out of a movie with a mindset that
you would've like to have have KEPT long after
the movie was over?
By the way, you can run your choice for "theme
song" through a similar filter also.
What's Your Slogan?
As crazy as it sounds, how does the thirty-
second commercial for YOU as a product run?
What's the tagline at the end?
What's Your "Mission Statement"?
Not to go all "Dilbert" on you, but have you ever
taken the time to come up with ONE SENTENCE
that flat-out says it all about you?
Whatever it is that you're ALL about, this sentence
should spell it out.
What Would Your Name Be If You Could
Change It To Anything?
Some of us like our given names and some of
us are still mad at our parents.
Maybe you won't actually go so far as McLovin'
did, but what if you could?
What would your "pen name" be? Would it be
more exotic or more "normal" than your real
name?
What Band Would You Be In?
I used to have a recurring dream that I replaced
Axl Rose in Guns N' Roses. But oddly, that
probably wouldn't be my answer to this question.
Consider not only which band you'd love to join,
but whether you'd be the lead singer, the lead
guitarist, the drummer, or something else.
What Sport Would You ROCK At?
Granted, a relatively low percentage of us are
pro athletes. But if you were, what sport would
you play for a living?
Better yet, which athlete would you want to play
against...and beat?
Maybe you'd love to beat Tiger in a playoff at
Augusta. Maybe you'd love to take the
checkered flag at Monaco. Maybe you'd play
Defensive End in the NFL or be an MMA world
champ.
It really doesn't matter whether you've played
a sport or not in your entire life. Give this one
some thought.
What Color Is YOURS?
Johnny Cash was "The Man In Black". That
was his color, and maybe it's yours also.
Or maybe it's something else.
Which Famous Chick Would You Hook
Up With For A "Hollywood Relationship"?
Go ahead, pick one. Tony Parker, Tony
Romo, and a bunch of other famous dudes
NOT named "Tony" have, and you might as
well also.
Don't worry, it doesn't have to last for the
two of you either. This is just an exercise.
What City Would You Be The Mayor Of?
For now, think outside the box (and whatever
nationality is written on your passport). What
city in the world would you really like to run?
Not just LIVE IN, but RUN.
By the way, I really love this one. It says A
LOT about where you like to be and the
external "vibe" you really resonate with.
Clearly, I'm having way too much fun with this.
So we'll cover the other half of the questions
I came up with next time.
Suffice it to say I've saved the most
outrageous ones for last.
I won't make you wait long, though. I'll get
those out to you tomorrow.
Better yet, I'll also show you exactly how to
actually apply all of this crazy talk to the real
world in a way that'll skyrocket your fortunes
with the very sharpest and hottest women out
there.
