HELLO FROM EMILY
Every once in a while, Scot writes a newsletter for the ladies. I know some of you guys actually get my newsletters also, so you’ve seen what I mean.
Well, since it's springtime, I thought it was time to write to you guys and say “hello” for a change. :-)
What’s on my heart is how so many of you have started to believe that we as women have stopped appreciating you as men…as if we don’t want, let alone need you anymore.
Believe me, Scot and I talk about this often. And I know how masculinity is portrayed in the media.
I also realize there are videos and Facebook posts from angry women out there, and they can seem compelling.
It's as if "toxic masculinity" is talked about all the time, with hardly ever any real celebration of what wonderful men out there are doing to make the world a better place.
But please know that all of this can be just as frustrating to us as women who actually LIKE men.
It’s particularly heartbreaking to good women out there that some guys have completely given up on all of us.
So in a world where you may not see much encouragement from women to stay steadfast in your masculinity as a “real man”, I want to offer some.
First of all, please know that sons—and yes, daughters too—still need their Dads as much as ever.
You should see how much our two youngest adore Scot.
They feel safe, protected and loved as they grow up, and Dad has SO much to do with that.
Plus, Scot is a much better mentor for their BMX racing than I am!
Also, I have to say that even in a world where we as women are stronger and more outspoken than ever before, we all still LOVE a man who has a plan.
Even women who head up large companies are magnetically drawn to a man who leads.
Sure, respect our intelligence and our rights as adults. But Scot is 100% correct when he says that women want you to, for example, plan the dates.
For some reason, a man who has everything handled is very sexy to us!
And yes, I want to give you all the assurance in the world that cute, sweet, level-headed women who are lots of fun still exist.
We’re alive and well, and many of us even live in the US, Canada or western Europe!
As you know, Scot and I travel and the ladies in other parts of the world are precious and adorable, for sure.
So I PROMISE you that there are great women around you wherever you live…and yes, more than you think are single.
Sure, some of us are shy, kind of reserved, or even "quirky", and that brings its own set of challenges...as Scot has been talking about this week.
But most of us love the flirty dance of seduction, and we're ready for and capable of being part of a great relationship.
And all of us, whether we’re single or not, are turned on by “big four” men.
It may be controversial to say so out loud, but that’s true even for women who appear angry at men and disillusioned, whether they like it and want to admit it or not.
So again...let me encourage you. Be a “big four” man who leads, and watch how we as women respond to you.
Some of us are broken nowadays, and many of us have been hurt.
But please don’t let anyone—male or female—tell you that you’re only part of the problem, no matter what you do.
You can be part of the solution…and yes, both women and your fellow men NEED you to be.
