[X&Y] What Happened?

QUICK...BEFORE THEY SOBER UP

Yes, it's New Years Day.   More accurately, relative to what I'm
about to say, it's the morning after New Year's Eve.

Okay, so as you know, about ten days ago I gave you that Holiday
gift card that you can spend like a $20 bill in the store.

It was supposed to expire at midnight last night, Pacific Standard
Time.

What I didn't account for is that my VA and tech guys were all out
partying last night.

Then again, so was I...so no harm, no foul.

And of course, that means they're all very busy at the moment.

They're thoroughly consumed in Prosecco-induced slumber.

Probably until sometime this afternoon, no less.

Meanwhile, this very minute I've chosen to write you and wish you
a Happy New Year (Happy New Year, by the way) instead of
attempting to do all of their work for them.

Besides, I have games to watch. Ha!

So, all of this means you still have a fleeting window of time left
to cash in your gift card:

Most likely, I'll start dropping e-mails to my team at halftime of
the (meaningless) NFL game I'm watching asking for an "update".

But until then, it's an "all you can carry sale".  Enjoy!

Last Chance To Cash In

And now, here's my completely different take on what a New Year's
Day newsletter should look like.  Take a look...

WHAT HAPPENED?

There’s a lot of talk about how 2016 was a particularly tough year.

A particularly divisive political cycle.  Terrorism.  Unrest.  Celebrity
deaths. The Zika virus.  Mariah Carey.

All I'm seeing this morning is how bad things have been and how
relieved people are that 2016 is over.

The negative tone is such a bummer.

But then again, so is trite lip-service to New Year's resolutions.

You already know where I stand on that one.  If you want change
in your life, there's no sense in waiting until January 1st to get the
ball rolling.

So with all of that in mind, I’m going to mix it up this time on New
Year’s Day.

Here it is:  I'd love to hear what went RIGHT for you in 2016.

I want to know what you resolved months ago and the positive
change you've seen as a result.

If you've been making ridiculously amazing progress, go ahead
and send me a picture of you with the hottest, sweetest, most
fun-to-be-with woman (or women) you've met.

While you're at it, let me know if I had anything at all to do with
you meeting her, having her adore you and etc., etc.

And MOST OF ALL, this is your chance to contribute to this
newsletter.  What encouragement do you have for guys who
are still looking forward to their own breakthrough?

Write me at:  scot@deservewhatyouwant.com, or just reply to
this newsletter directly.

This is all about kicking off 2017 with the right attitude, and
it'll be especially cool to get you in on it.  I'll reprint the most
compelling entries either tomorrow or Tuesday.

And in fact, the best overall should get a prize, huh?

You got it.

If you send me the best overall success story over the next day
or two, I'll complete your collection of programs for you.  Boom!

So I challenge you...what happened that was GOOD in 2016?
Go ahead and let me know.

And now, it's time to get some "quality time" in with the hottest,
sweetest, most fun-to-be-with woman I'VE met before the game
starts.
