I got a call last night from a guy who had put me to work for him
recently.
A while back he wasn't exactly thrilled with his results on Match.com,
which is what had prompted him to give me a call originally.
So we worked on some major tweaks to his profile, along with a whole
new outlook on how to write killer first e-mails.
Well, things have changed since...to say the least.
As you may know if you're a member, Match.com has a feature where
they "spotlight" certain profiles that they think stand out WAY, WAY
above and beyond the rest.
Well, yeah. Our hero made that cut, which is--of course--amazingly
difficult to do.
But that's just the beginning. There's more.
Out of ALL the "spotlighted" profiles, a VERY SELECT FEW make it all
the way to the MSN.com front page to serve as the ultimate, world-
class examples of what a great profile should look like.
Sure enough, one day my friend awoke to numerous text messages and
even notes fromFacebook friends as far away as Brazil and China.
You guessed it. They had seen his picture gracing the front page
of MSN.com
His next stop, of course, was to race to his Match.com profile.

profile snippet on MSN.com, his inbox was literally FLOODED.
"Man...I lost count of how many women e-mailed me. But to be honest,
a lot of them were pretty far from New York so I couldn't possibly
date them all. Still, it felt pretty good to get that kind of attention."
To say the least, right? You've got to love his understated
assessment of the situation.
Apparently, he even got a stray message or two from women he had
already been talking to--sort of asking him if he still had time to
date them, now that he was so "popular".
That's just crazy talk, if you ask me. Who on Earth has THAT kind of
