MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO CELEBRATE


It's a Christmas tradition around here.  After the kids go to bed
on Christmas Eve, Emily and I play "Santa" together.

In addition to getting the job at hand done, a major goal of mine
is to make Emily laugh.

We always have Christmas music on in the background, and the
timeless classic "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" inevitably
started playing.

I don't know what struck me, but I somehow automatically started
singing the song referenced in the subject line instead.

Emily broke up laughing instantly. 

Anything to make wrapping presents more enjoyable.  (I suck at
it, by the way.)

My sincerest hope is the Santa in you got to ask some thrilled,
lucky chick, "Who's your daddy?" last night.

Seriously, though, Merry Christmas to those of you who
celebrate.

By now it's afternoon here and everyone is crashed out
between now and dinnertime.  That gave me a blessed
chance to sneak away and write this newsletter.
