[X&Y] "Do You Know Who The Hell I Am?"

“DO YOU KNOW WHO THE HELL I AM?”
It was late afternoon on October 25th, 1975. Every one of my
school-aged friends and I were glued to our television sets.
Evel Knievel was about to jump 14 Greyhound buses.
And he did so, successfully…just three short months after
crushing his pelvis and breaking who-knows-how-many other
bones in a failed attempt to jump double-deckers at Wembley
Stadium in London.
As soon as the broadcast was over, all of my buddies and I
simultaneously burst out of our front doors scrambling for our
bicycles. We had to go jump curbs and stuff, even though
dusk had fallen and it was cold outside.
My guess is that every pre-teen boy in the United States was
doing the same thing.
Indeed, the jump had resulted in the highest-rated telecast
in the history of ABC’s Wide World of Sports.
If you’re not old enough to remember Evel Knievel, you’ve at
least heard of him.
He was one-of-a-kind and there will never be another like
him.
Even today, in a world of next-generation daredevils like
Travis Pastrana, Felix Baumgartner and even Knievel’s own
son Robbie, not even Nitro Circus has ever captured
zeitgeist in a bottle in quite the same way.
The guy was an “a-list” celebrity by every definition of the
word. There were television appearances and full-length
motion pictures.
There was even an entire line of Evel Knievel toys that bore
his household name. They flew off the shelves.
In retrospect as an adult man, I fully realize that such fame
didn’t come to him simply because he jumped his motorcycle.
More so, it was the sheer IDGAF swagger with which he
carried himself.
He was known for saying what he was going to do, and then
doing it.
In 2002, long after Evel Knievel’s heyday, sports talk show
host Jim Rome scored a rare radio interview with him.
During the segment, the infamous 1974 attempt to jump the
Snake River Canyon with a rocket-powered “Skycycle” came
up.
When asked what he thought his chances were of surviving
the jump at the moment he strapped in, Evel answered,
“50/50”.
When Rome challenged why in the world anyone would try
that jump against those kind of odds, there was a deafening
three seconds of radio silence.
Evel then calmly, but sternly delivered his now legendary
response.
“Do you know who the hell I am?”
Jim Rome, normally one of the most brash and cocky figures
in sports journalism, was left nearly speechless.
Robert Craig Knievel, the man, was no doubt a bit of an anti-
hero. He was a substance abuser and was once jailed for
assault.
But he knew who the hell he was.
Infamously, women loved him for it…even physically, by the
thousands.
Indeed, it wasn’t just the motorcycles, the buses and the
broken bones that captured everyone’s imagination.
There was just something about that guy.
He was about as close to Invincible as they come.
Evel Knievel died on November 30th, 2007 of natural causes
at age 69. He had stared death in the eye his whole life
and lived to tell about it. Ironically, he essentially died of old
age.
Now, you and I might not be the kind of guys who will accept
50/50 odds on our lives just for the thrill of jumping stuff.
But we should still know who the hell we are.
Whatever our passions and purpose are as a man, we
should boldly, assertively and yes…even dominantly go after
them.
You may be led to believe that the here-and-now in 2019 is
a vastly different world than the one Evel Knievel thrived in
.
But I would say the more things change, the more they
remain the same.
Men who represent the Invincible spirit exude personal power.
Not only do they lead more fulfilling lives while holding their
heads up high, they win.
They win with women, they win in their careers and they
ultimately win genuine the respect of all around them while
doing so.
Too many men are running scared nowadays.
We’ve been told our masculinity is “toxic” and that simply
being heterosexual makes us complicit in “rape culture”.
We’ve been subtly led to feel as if “dominant” somehow
rhymes with “abusive”.
My simple question to you is this…
Are you going to let someone else brand your identity as a
man according to whatever agenda they’re on, or do you
already know who the hell you are?
Invincible is perhaps my most influential and powerful program
ever, and right now you can have it for 50% off.
Plus, I'm giving you my blueprint for reclaiming natural
masculinity. That's The Master Plan, yours free.

more confident man.
Be Good,
Scot McKay
